GRCA has a number of automatic water level gauges on rivers and streams at important locations throughout the Grand River watershed. Weather forecasts are monitored regularly to detect conditions that could cause flooding in the Grand River watershed.

For a comprehensive list of pre-made charts, please visit the River Data section of our website. To download data, use our online download form or data API located on the Grand River Information Network (GRIN).

Station Parameters

All timeseries are updated 30 minutes past the hour to provide the last 5-days of hourly data from GRCA's monitoring network. Station parameters are organized by NOAA Shef code:

  • QR Discharge, River. Measure in cubic metres per second (m3/s)
  • PN Precipitation Normal. Measured in millimetres (mm)
  • TA Temperature, Air. Measured in degrees celsius (°C)

Radar Data

The radar displays two modes, Rain or Snow, depending on the season. Rain mode (default April 1 to November 30; expressed in mm/h) would display the radar for the reflectivity of liquid precipitation. Snow mode (default December 1 to March 31; expressed in cm/h) would display the radar for the reflectivity of frozen precipitation.
